Colored Water

Colored water can result from various factors, including issues with your well or a malfunctioning water softener. Common causes of colored water from wells include tannic acid and iron. Reliable Water Treatment and Well can test your water to determine if it contains iron or tannic acid. Depending on the results, we offer several types of filters and resins to remove the color, ensuring your water is clean and clear.

Hard Water

Hard water contains high levels of minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, which can cause scale buildup in pipes, damage fixtures, and reduce the efficiency of appliances. Hard water is prevalent in both well water and city water supplies. Installing a water softener can mitigate these issues. A softener works through an ion exchange process, which replaces the hard minerals with sodium ions, softening the water before it enters your home. For a free estimate, contact us, and one of our water treatment professionals will recommend the best filter for your needs.

Iron in Water

Iron in water can be particularly troublesome, causing stains on laundry, fixtures, and dishes. The Iron Blocker filter is designed to remove iron and also soften the water. It can remove up to 4 parts per million of iron, making your water clearer and more pleasant to use. If you suspect an iron problem in your water, please contact us for a consultation and tailored solution.

Our Treatment Solutions

Ion Exchange Resin

Ion exchange resin is a plastic material that removes hardness from water as it passes through the resin bed. During the regeneration process, hardness ions are exchanged for sodium ions from the brine solution, effectively softening the water. It is important to keep salt in your brine tank to maintain this process.

Iron Blocker

The Iron Blocker filter is a blend of ion exchange resins, coarse sands, and white anion resin, specifically designed to remove iron and tannic acid from water. It cleans using a brine solution and softener cleaner, ensuring the filter remains effective over time.

KDF Resin

KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) resin is a high-performance, expensive resin designed to remove a variety of contaminants, including some color, while softening water and preventing bacterial growth. It is particularly effective in challenging water conditions.

White Anion Resin

White anion resin targets tannic acid removal, making it ideal for water with high levels of organic materials. It can be used in applications ranging from small softener systems to complete tannin filters. This resin cleans effectively with brine.

Activated Carbon

Activated carbon is a highly porous material that absorbs chlorine from water and can remove small amounts of sulfur. It is commonly used in water filtration systems to improve taste and odor. Activated carbon cleans with simple backwashing or hydrogen peroxide treatments.
